Summary: In MA5616 V800R310C00SPC100 through V800R310C00SPH109, if the MA5616 uses ]an H.248 interface registered using a domain name, the MA5616 resource overload occurs after the MA5616 runs for a long period of time.
Problem Description
Trigger Conditions
This issue occurs if the following conditions are met:
The H.248 service has been configured on the MA5616.
A softswitch domain name has been configured on an H.248 interface. The softswitch domain name is only used for checking an H.248 message head. The following figure shows an example.
Symptom
The MA5616 reports resource overload alarms.
Identification Method
This issue complies with the prewarning if the following conditions are met:
MA5616 resource overload alarms have been reported.
The H.248 service has been configured on the MA5616 and an H.248 interface uses a softswitch
domain name. The following figure shows an example.
The DNS parsing function is not or incorrectly configured on the MA5616 so that the MA5616
cannot parse softswitch domain names.
Run the following command to check whether a softswitch domain name can be parsed.
In the preceding figure, if ulResolveResult is 0, the ulIpAddr value is the IP address of the softswitch domain name. If ulResolveResult is not 0, the parsing fails.
Root Cause
If the H.248 service and softswitch domain name have been configured on the MA5616, the MA5616uses the domain name service (DNS) parsing function to parse the domain name. However, the DNS parsing function is not or incorrectly configured on the MA5616. As a result, the domain name fails
to be parsed. After the MA5616 runs for a long period of time, the domain name parsing failures use many MA5616 resources, which results in MA5616 resource overload.
Impact and Risk
The MA5616 cannot be managed by the U2000; users cannot ping or telnet the MA5616; the voice
service fails on the MA5616.
Measures and Solutions
Recovery Measures
Load V800R310C00SPH110 by following the instructions in the patch notes.
Workarounds
Solution 1: Configure the DNS parsing function on the MA5616 so that the MA5616 can parse
H.248 domain names. To do so, run the following command:
MA5616(config)#dns server 10.11.104.100 //10.11.104.100 is the IP address of the DNS server.
MA5616(config)#dns resolve
Solution 2: If the MA5616 does not use the soft switch domain name to check signaling, delete the
soft switch domain name.
