Function
This command is used to add an ONT capability set profile in a distributed
mode. Applying the profile to an ONT is to specify the ONT capability
attributes. When an existing capability set profile does not match the actual
ONT capability, run this command to add a new one.
Parameters
Parameter | Description | Value |
---|---|---|
profile-id profile-id | Indicates the ID of the ONT capability set profile. It identifies a capability set profile uniquely. If you do not specify it, the system allocates the smallest idle ID automatically. | Numeral type. Range: 17-128. |
profile-name profile-name | Indicates the name of the ONT capability set profile. If you do not specify it, the system automatically adopts the default name ont-profile_x. The x is the ID of the capability set profile. | Character string type. a string of 1-63 characters. |
Usage Guidelines
- In the privilege mode or global config mode, run the diagnose command to enter the Diagnose mode.
- You are recommended to use this command in the global config mode.
- To switch the xPON mode, run the diagnose command in privilege mode or global config mode to enter diagnose mode, and then run thexpon mode switch-to command. After the switching, reset the device for the mode to take effect.
- An ONT must be bound with a capability set profile. The profile application on an ONT(such as HG8245H) refers to specifying the ONT configuration data. After that, the port ID referenced by the GEM port mapping, ONT PQ mapping and ONT VLAN management commands are restricted by the profile data.
- The configured ONT capability set profile must be the same as the actual ONT capability. The online ONT capability can be queried by the display ont capability command. If the bound capability set profile is not consistent with the actual ONT capability, the system has two types of handling policies: the configuration is restored to the default and the configuration is locked. You can run the ont resume resource command to configure the handling policy.
- The system supports up to 128 capability set profiles and up to 16 default profiles.
- The system default profiles include the multi-dwelling unit (MDU) profile and the profile for the common ONTs. They are numbered from 1 to 16. The reserved profile numbers of the 16 profiles are null and can be added according to requirements. Currently, the system has four default ONT capability set profiles. The default profiles cannot be deleted or modified.
Example
To add a capability set profile for the ONT, do as follows:
huawei(config)#ont-profile add { <cr>|profile-id<K>|profile-name<K> }:profile-name { profile-name<S><Length 1-63> }:profile1 { <cr>|profile-id<K> }: Command: ont-profile add profile-name profile1 Press 'Q' or 'q' to quit input > Are you sure you want to set the number of POTS ports to auto-adaptive? System Response
- The system displays the message "Adding an ONT profile succeeded" after an ONT capability set profile is added successfully. At the same time, the system displays the profile ID and profile name of the new capability set profile.
- The following table describes the parameters in response to this
command.
Parameter Description Are you sure you want to set the number of POTS ports to auto-adaptive? (y/n) [n]: Indicates whether to set the number of plain old telephone service (POTS) ports to adaptive.- y: Sets the number of POTS ports to adaptive so that the number of POTS ports is set based on the actual number on the ONT
- n: Sets the number of POTS ports to non-adaptive so that the number of POTS ports is set in a subsequent step.
Number of POTS ports Indicates the number of the POTS ports. The configured value must be the same as the number of the actual POTS ports. Are you sure you want to set the number of ETH ports to auto-adaptive? (y/n) [n]: Indicates whether to set the number of Ethernet ports to adaptive.- y: Sets the number of Ethernet ports to adaptive so that the number of Ethernet ports is set based on the actual number on the ONT
- n: Sets the number of Ethernet ports to non-adaptive so that the number of Ethernet ports is set in a subsequent step.
Number of ETH ports Indicates the number of the ETH ports. The configured value must be the same as the number of the actual ETH ports. Are you sure you want to set the number of VDSL ports to auto-adaptive? (y/n) [n]: Indicates whether to set the number of VDSL ports to adaptive.- y: Sets the number of VDSL ports to adaptive so that the number of VDSL ports is set based on the actual number on the ONT
- n: Sets the number of VDSL ports to non-adaptive so that the number of VDSL ports is set in a subsequent step.
Number of VDSL ports Indicates the number of the VDSL ports. The configured value must be the same as the number of the actual VDSL ports. TDM port type Indicates the TDM port type. It can be E1 or T1 type. TDM service type Indicates the TDM service type. It can be TDMoGEM type only. Number of TDM ports Indicates the number of the TDM ports. The configured value must be the same as the number of the actual TDM ports. Number of MOCA ports Indicates the number of the MOCA ports. The configured value must be the same as the number of the actual MOCA ports. Are you sure you want to set the number of CATV UNI ports to auto-adaptive? ( y/n) [n]: Indicates whether to set the number of CATV UNI ports to adaptive.- y: Sets the number of CATV UNI ports to adaptive so that the number of CATV UNI ports is set based on the actual number on the ONT
- n: Sets the number of CATV UNI ports to non-adaptive so that the number of CATV UNI ports is set in a subsequent step.
Number of CATV UNI ports Indicates the number of the CATV UNI ports. The configured value must be the same as the number of the actual CATV UNI ports. Mapping mode Indicates the mapping mode between the service flow and the GEM port.- In the single bridge mode, it can be set to mapping based on VLAN, mapping based on 802.1p priority, or mapping based on VLAN+802.1p priority. By default, the mapping mode is mapping based on VLAN.
- In the multi-bridge mode, it can be set to mapping based on port ID.
- ONT mapping modes include the following categories:
- Category 1: mapping based on VLAN, mapping based on 802.1p priority, and mapping based on VLAN+802.1p priority.
- Category 2: mapping based on port ID, mapping based on port ID+VLAN, mapping based on port ID+802.1p priority, and mapping based on port ID+VLAN+802.1p priority
- Category 3: mapping based on IP ToS
- Category 4: mapping based on VLAN+IP ToS
The type of flow control Indicates the type of the flow control. Profile ID Indicates the ID of the ONT capability set profile. Profile name Indicates the name of the ONT capability set profile. - For more information about the error message that the system displays against a command entered with incorrect syntax,
