Function

This command is used to enable or disable F5 OAM loopback function. When you need to enable or disable the F5 OAM loopback function and the F5 OAM loopback status check function, run this command. After this command is configured successfully, the F5 OAM loopback function can be controlled.

Format

f5 oam loopback { disable | enable { check | uncheck } }

Parameters

disable Disables the F5 OAM loopback. -
enable Enables the F5 OAM loopback. -
check Enabling service-based continuity check
After the F5 OAM check is enabled, you can detect whether a service stream exists on the device side through the VPI/VCI carried by the F5 OAM cell. if the service stream exists, the F5 OAM cells are looped back.

uncheck Enabling F5 OAM physical link detection and disabling service-based continuity detection.
After the F5 OAM check is disabled, all the F5 OAM cells are looped back.

Usage Guidelines

  • The ATM OAM function is divided into five layers, namely, F1, F2, F3, F4 and F5. Layers F1, F2 and F3 represent the maintenance mechanism at the physical layer. Layers F4 and F5 represent the maintenance mechanism at the ATM layer. Layer F5 represents the VC-level maintenance stream.
  • The F5 OAM loopback and the ATM-PING operation are not mutually exclusive.

Example

To enable the F5 OAM loopback, do as follows:
huawei(config)#f5 oam loopback
{ disable<K>|enable<K> }:enable
{ check<K>|uncheck<K> }:check
Command:
          f5 oam loopback enable check

System Response

  • The system does not display any message after this command is executed successfully.
  • For more information about the error message that the system displays against a command entered with incorrect syntax.
