SHDSL Line Profile Configuration----shdsl line-profile modify

Function Description

This topic describes the commands related to SHDSL line profile configuration. The commands can be used to add, delete, edit, and query an extended line profile.

shdsl line-profile modify

Function

This command is used to modify an SHDSL line profile. To adjust the parameters in an SHDSL line profile, run this command. After that, the configuration data of the port bound with the profile is changed.
NOTE:
When the data encapsulation mode configured for a port is changed, this change takes effect on other ports on the same chip in about 1 second. Therefore, exercise caution when you change the data encapsulation mode for a port.

Format

shdsl line-profile modify profile-index

Parameters

Parameter Description Value
profile-index Indicates the ID of an SHDSL line profile. To modify a specified SHDSL line profile, use this parameter. Numeral type. Range: 1-107.

Modes

Global config mode, SHDSL mode, GPBD,GPFD

Level

Operator level

Usage Guidelines

  • Run the config command to enter global config mode, and then run the interface shl command to enter SHDSL mode.
  • In the interactive mode, if you choose to restore the profile data to the default values, the data of a 2-wire profile, 4-wire profile, 6-wire profile, and 8-wire profile restores to the default configuration of a 2-wire profile, 4-wire profile, 6-wire profile, and 8-wire profile respectively.
  • For an SHDSL line profile that is bound or a default SHDSL line profile, the port type cannot be changed.

Example

To modify SHDSL line profile 2 with the downstream current target SNR margin of 3 dB, the upstream current target SNR margin of 3 dB, do as follows:
huawei(config)#shdsl line-profile modify
{ profile-index<U><1,107> }:3

  Command:
          shdsl line-profile modify 3
Start modifying profile 3. New setting will take effect automatically after
the modification succeed
During inputting, press 'Q' to quit, then settings at this time will be ignored

System Response

  • After an SHDSL line profile is modified successfully, the system displays the message "Modify profile x successfully, and new setting is taking effect now". The x is the ID of the modified line profile.
  • The following table describes the parameters in response to the shdsl line-profile modify command.
    Parameter Description
G.SHDSL data path mode Indicates the SHDSL data encapsulation mode. Options are ATM, PTM, and TDM. By default, it is ATM.
G.SHDSL interface mode of line (1--two wire;2--four wire;3--six wire;4--eight wire) There are four types of SHDSL interface modes: 2-wire, 4-wire, 6-wire, and 8-wire modes. By default, the SHDSL interface is in the 2-wire mode. This parameter is available only for an ATM or TDM port.
Do you want to restore data to default? If you enter "y", the data of the line profile restores to the default.
If you enter "n", the interactive mode is adopted and you need set parameters of the line profile.
G.SHDSL minimum line rate (Value must be multiple of 64,except 2312kbps and 3848kbps, 192~15360,2312,3848 kbps) Sets the minimum line rate for two-wire SHDSL line. The line rate must a multiple of 64. If the rate entered is not a multiple of 64, the system adjusts the rate to a multiple value of 64 which is the most close to the one entered. By default, the minimum line rate is 2048 kbit/s.
When the profile is set to the TDM mode and in the E1 frame format and a port that references the profile is in the running mode, the port must matches the 2048 kbit/s rate. Run the e1port runmode command to configure the running mode.
G.SHDSL maximum line rate (Value must be multiple of 64,except 2312kbps and 3848kbps, 2048~15360,2312,3848 kbps) Sets the maximum line rate for two-wire SHDSL line. The method of setting the maximum line rate is the same as the method of setting the minimum line rate. If the set maximum line rate is the same as the minimum line rate, the SHDSL line rate is unchangeable. If the set maximum line rate is greater than the minimum line rate, the SHDSL line rate is changeable. By default, the maximum line rate is 2048 kbit/s.When the profile is set to the TDM mode and in the E1 frame format and a port that references the profile is in the running mode, the port must matches the 2048 kbit/s rate. Run the e1port runmode command to configure the running mode.
G.SHDSL four wire minimum lines rate (The value should be the multiple of 128,except 4624kbps and 7696kbps, 384~30720,4624,7696 kbps) Sets the minimum line rate for four-wire ATM SHDSL line. The line rate must a multiple of 128. If the rate entered is not a multiple of 128, the system adjusts the rate to a multiple value of 128 which is the most close to the one entered.
G.SHDSL four wire maximum lines rate (The value should be the multiple of 128,except 4624kbps and 7696kbps, 4096~30720,4624,7696 kbps) Sets the maximum line rate for four-wire ATM SHDSL line. The setting method is the same as that of the minimum line rate. If the set maximum line rate equals to the minimum, the SHDSL line rate is considered as fixed. If the set maximum line rate is larger than the minimum, the SHDSL line rate is considered as changeable.
G.SHDSL six wire minimum lines rate (The value should be the multiple of 192,except 6936kbps and 11544kbps, 576~46080,6936,11544 kbps) Sets the minimum line rate for six-wire ATM SHDSL line. The line rate must a multiple of 192. If the rate entered is not a multiple of 192, the system adjusts the rate to a multiple value of 192 which is the most close to the one entered.
G.SHDSL six wire maximum lines rate (The value should be the multiple of 192,except 6936kbps and 11544kbps, 6144~46080,6936,11544 kbps) Sets the maximum line rate for six-wire ATM SHDSL line. The setting method is the same as that of the minimum line rate. If the set maximum line rate equals to the minimum, the SHDSL line rate is considered as fixed. If the set maximum line rate is larger than the minimum, the SHDSL line rate is considered as changeable.
G.SHDSL eight wire minimum lines rate (The value should be the multiple of 256,except 9248kbps and 15392kbps, 768~61440,9248,15392 kbps) Sets the minimum line rate for eight-wire ATM SHDSL line. The line rate must a multiple of 256. If the rate entered is not a multiple of 256, the system adjusts the rate to a multiple value of 256 which is the most close to the one entered.
G.SHDSL eight wire maximum lines rate (The value should be the multiple of 256,except 9248kbps and 15392kbps, 8192~61440,9248,15392 kbps) Sets the maximum line rate for eight-wire ATM SHDSL line. The setting method is the same as that of the minimum line rate. If the set maximum line rate equals to the minimum, the SHDSL line rate is considered as fixed. If the set maximum line rate is larger than the minimum, the SHDSL line rate is considered as changeable.
Power Spectral Density mode (1--symmetric;2--asymmetric) Sets the PSD mode for an SHDSL line. There are two types of PSD modes: symmetric and asymmetric. At all data transmission rates, the SHDSL transceiver must support symmetric PSD and may or may not support asymmetric PSD. By default, the PSD mode is symmetric.
    Transmission mode (1--G.991.2 Annex A/F;2--G.991.2 Annex B/G;3--All)
Sets the transmission mode. The transmission mode is selected based on the area requirements. Only when the transmission mode of the local end is consistent with that of the remote end, an SHDSL line can be set up.
    • 1: G.991.2 Annex A/F for North America.
    • 2: G.991.2 Annex B/G for Europe.
    • 3: G.991.2 Annex A/F and G.991.2 Annex B/G. By default, both G.991.2 Annex A/F and G.991.2 Annex B/G are supported.
Remote enable (1--enabled;2--disabled) Enables/Disables the remote configuration and management function. By default, this function is enabled. If it is set to disable, STU-R managing is not possible and in contrary, if it is set to enable, STU-R managing is possible.
Probe enable (1--disabled;2--enabled) Enables/Disables the detection function. If this function is enabled, the system implements the line detection function to search the best line rate. If this function is disabled, the system skips the line rate adaptation process to shorten the time to set up the G.SHDSL line. By default, the detection function is disabled.
    Modulation mode(1--TCPAM16;2--TCPAM32;3--auto;4--TCPAM64;5--TCPAM128)
    Sets the modulation mode.
    • 1: Indicates that the modulation mode is TCPAM16.
    • 2: Indicates that the modulation mode is TCPAM32.
    • 3: Indicates that the modulation mode is determined by the board based on the maximum line rate when port is activated. The default option is auto.
    • 4: Indicates that the modulation mode is TCPAM64.
    • 5: Indicates that the modulation mode is TCPAM128.
Performance statistic mode(1--auto;2--absolute;3--delta) Sets the performance statistics mode. Default value: auto.
    Clock mode(1--freeRun 2--system)[1]:
Sets the clock mode for the profile.
    • 1: Indicates the freeRun mode, namely, local clock mode.
    • 2: Indicates the system, namely, network clock mode.
    The default mode is freeRun.
    G.SHDSL data clock align
Sets the clock synchronization mode of the profile. By default, the clock synchronization mode is synchronization.
    • 1: synchronization
    • 2: asynchronism
Do you config the target SNR margin? If you enter "y", the interactive mode is adopted and you need set parameters of the target SNR margin.
If you enter "n", the target SNR margin that is configured previously remains unchanged.
Downstream current target SNR margin(-10~21 db) Sets the downstream current target SNR margin. The larger the SNR margin, the higher the connection stability, but the lower of the activated physical connection rate.
By default, the SNR margin value is 6. For internet users, the target SNR margin can be set to 3. For users with higher levels, the target SNR margin can be set to 5.
Downstream worst case target SNR margin(-10~3 db) Sets the downstream worst target SNR margin. This parameter must be smaller than or equal with downstream current target SNR margin.
    Default value: 0.
Upstream current target SNR margin(-10~21 db) Sets the upstream current target SNR margin.
Default value: 6. The setting method is the same as that of the downstream current target SNR margin.
Upstream worst case target SNR margin(-10~3 db) Sets the upstream worst target SNR margin. This parameter must be smaller than or equal with upstream current target SNR margin.
    Default value: 0.
